With minimal existing documentation on the structure, we initiated selective demolition to uncover the hidden architectural layers. Collaborating closely with the Heineken Experience Development & Innovation team, we explored three design concepts, ultimately choosing a “box-in-box” solution to preserve the historic character while enhancing functionality.
Our design seamlessly merges heritage with contemporary style, achieving a balance of comfort and transparency. To make Heineken’s history tangible, we restored the space to its original form by removing later additions such as paint layers, partitions, and suspended ceilings. This raw and authentic environment enhances the building's historical brewing identity.
The Heineken Collection is housed in custom museum-quality glass cases, positioned strategically between walls and columns for full visibility. The contemporary display contrasts with the restored industrial shell, creating a striking visual effect. The forecourt offers entry to a flexible hospitality area that accommodates rotating exhibitions, complemented by custom furniture and warm, mirrored ceilings that enrich the welcoming atmosphere.
